Ghosts of Jupiter is announcing the departure of Johnny Trama — guitarist for GOJ since 2009. Over the past 5 years, Johnny was part of the transition from the Nate Wilson Group to the 5-piece line-up that released their self-titled album in 2011. The music was featured at the Museum of Science Planetarium for over a year while the band played all around New England and the Mid-Atlantic. Later efforts included the Green is Gold EP and sold-out performances in the band’s home base of Boston. Ghosts of Jupiter has been exploring new musical directions recently and continues to record new tunes for release next spring, and felt it was time to part ways with Johnny. Trama will be driving forward with his solo work and with the recently signed Dub Apocalypse.
“Johnny’s contribution to the band has been musically and personally invaluable,” said GOJ bassist Tommy Lada. “We wish him the very best with his endeavors, and I hope we all get to share some new music soon.”
